Additional engagement on the Wirral

Our additional engagement phase ran from 31st March 2026 until 8th May 2026.

The aim of this additional engagement phase was to gain as much information and feedback as possible from communities on the Wirral to support the development of our proposals.

We’d like to thank everyone who came along to one of our in-person sessions at the Floral Pavilion, attended a webinar and shared feedback or engaged with us via our contact channels.

The feedback received will be reviewed alongside that which we have received as part of our phase 1 consultation, and will inform the next iteration of our project design and our consultation on this, which will be held later in the year.

To view webinar recordings, previous consultation materials, and explore our interactive map, please visit our consultation hub.

We have recently updated our Questions and Answers page and have produced a range of project factsheets that respond to common questions raised during our phase 1 consultation. You can find these here.

More information on our proposals, including the EIA Scoping Opinion, can be found on the Planning Inspectorate website here.

Phase 1 consultation

Peak Cluster’s phase 1 consultation ran from 12th January 2026 until 27th February 2026.

We’d like to thank all those who have taken the time to attend our events and webinars, share their feedback and engage with us via our contact channels.

If granted permission to go ahead, Peak Cluster will help secure a reliable supply of sustainable British-made cement and lime – essential for building homes and infrastructure, producing safe drinking water and creating healthy soils for food production. It will do this by building the infrastructure required to capture, transport and store carbon dioxide created as cement and lime are produced.

The feedback that we received during the consultation will help inform the ongoing development of the project, along with engineering and environmental studies that our teams continue to carry out. It will also help us to shape how we engage and consult with communities, as we continue to develop the Peak Cluster. We plan to launch our phase 2 consultation on the next iteration of the project towards the end of the year. This will provide an opportunity for you to review and comment on more detailed project designs and information about how we intend to build the pipeline and associated infrastructure.

Although the consultation has now closed, we have left our consultation hub live, to continue to provide access to our consultation materials.
