Update on additional engagement on the Wirral
Our additional engagement phase is running from 31st March 2026 until 8th May 2026
We want to gain as much information as possible from communities on the Wirral as this will play a crucial part in the development of our proposals.
This additional engagement follows high public interest in our initial phase 1 consultation earlier this year. It includes online webinars, a series of in-person public sessions, and new fact sheets addressing key questions raised by the community.
Find out more details about how to join in the planned sessions, access factsheets and previous consultation materials, and provide feedback, on our consultation hub.
Peak Cluster’s phase 1 consultation closed on Friday 27th February 2026. We’d like to thank all those who have taken the time to attend our events and webinars, share their feedback and engage with us via our contact channels.
If granted permission to go ahead, Peak Cluster will help secure a reliable supply of sustainable British-made cement and lime – essential for building homes and infrastructure, producing safe drinking water and creating healthy soils for food production. It will do this by building the infrastructure required to capture, transport and store carbon dioxide created as cement and lime are produced.
The feedback that we received during the consultation will help inform the ongoing development of the project, along with engineering and environmental studies that our teams continue to carry out. It will also help us to shape how we engage and consult with communities, as we continue to develop the Peak Cluster. We plan to launch our phase 2 consultation on the next iteration of the project towards the end of the year. This will provide an opportunity for you to review and comment on more detailed project designs and information about how we intend to build the pipeline and associated infrastructure.
Although the consultation has now closed, we have left our consultation hub live, to continue to provide access to our consultation materials.
